Around 40mph, severed my brake lines on impact, thankfully I stayed on the bike and was able to ride out the few seconds of flying around and figuring out how to stop.

Hematoma on my right nut and a swollen left knee. Deer is dead and my Aprilia is likely a total loss.

Good Grief. Glad you’re in 1 piece.

Thanks. Me, too! Hoping the insurance mess will be easy to navigate. I think the broken tab on the frame totals the bike, so I'm waiting now to see what they think the bike is worth. I was surprised how much I was offered for my wife's Volvo earlier this year when it was hit by the drunk downtown, hoping that they come through with a strong value with the bike, too.

Looking at possible replacements for my Aprilia if it's totaled. MV?

G'm not sure about the reliability of these—I have been lucky with the Ape, but I'mnot sure I want to push my luck.
. I'm glad to hear you survived. While not unscathed you got pretty lucky.

When they first came back to the US I , I had an F4 in the early 2000s. I bought it as a leftover that was still in the crate in 2004. I believe it was a 2003. It's a nice bike, but I prefer twins. It felt too Japanese and less Italian. It steered a little too quick for me, and I prefer something that takes a bit more mussel and stability. I guess they started the whole alternative exhaust systems on bikes that continue today. Before that, there were one or two long pipes on everything. This looks very compact, almost like a 250 racer.
