Ah, one year earlier than the Magic Roundabout at Hemel - but fewer exits. An easy one.

Hyde Park Corner used to be a challenge.

I first drove round it a couple of days after passing my driving test. I latched on to a taxi that seemed to be going my way and followed it.

Oy vey! New Jersey traffic circles! My dad was from South Jersey. I grew up in Massachusetts, (Massachusetts is a derivative of a Wampanoag word meaning "land of many rotarys" Mass. has rotarys, not circles or roundabouts) so I'm familiar with both states rules.

In Mass., it's cut and dried: traffic in the rotary has ROW.

In New Jersey though, It's not so easy. The drivers handbook is still rather nebulous on the subject. At one point it states: "There are no set rules driving into, around, and out of a traffic circle in NJ. Common sense and caution must prevail at all times." So, apparently it's a free for all.
"In most cases, the circles historically established traffic flow dictates who has ROW." ??? Who the hell knows that f you're from Hognutt, Arkansas?

But then: "When in doubt, driver should should exercise extreme caution and remember the basic rules governing any uncontrolled intersection, the vehicle to the left yields the ROW to the vehicle approaching from the right." thereby giving ROW to vehicles entering the traffic circle. It also means dillweeds in the circle might just stop to let incoming traffic enter!

In other words, in NJ, nobody has a frikken clue! There are even NJ law firms that specialise in traffic circle accidents!

Painful watching the bikes come tumbling down and getting trashed, but looks like good fun overall

I put new bars and mirrors on my bullit.
I took it for 200km through the mountains and back roads last Saturday and 150km mixed motorway and regional roads home on Sunday.

It definitely was a bit lacking on the way home but it had no trouble keeping up with the other bikes through the twisties (zrx1200 and cb1300) not bad for a 125.

I'm impressed how comfortable it was on the long spin no issues at all and I could have kept going

Excellent. In the twisties displacement doesn't matter so much, ont he straights for sure, but typically one hits traffic lights and everyone regroups soon enough. Looks great! Got any closer pics?
