The ‘Magic’ Roundabout in Hemel Hempstead confuses some on first acquaintance, but it keeps the traffic flowing. But anyone who had just learnt about roundabouts would have to unlearn some of it. I used it regularly at one time, and liked it.
When I was commuting back and forth between Chicago and London, I used to have to navigate this one (in Crawley). A bit more difficult when you're on the opposite side of the road (and the car) than you're used to...

The Crawley one is standard, though. From the position of the cars, it also looks as though it’s traffic light controlled.

If you look at the Magic Roundabout, it includes mini roundabouts where you can go left or right. I think there are a few more like it now, but it was quite famous when first introduced.

Too busy turning all available land into another shopping center/office complex that we don't need.

There’s no other way it would work without lights at each stop line

I think roundabouts are kind of bad. They seem like an engineer's solution to a human problem.

What are people bad at? Stopping and driving in a straight line.
What are people even worse at? Driving around a curve and changing lanes.

So for better traffic flow, they turn intersections into the wild west. I'm sure in England, where they're more commonplace, it's less of an issue, but in the US, whenever I go to the land of bad driving and bad road design (New Jersey), traffic circles are times when the average person feels closest to death.

When I was navigating it, it would be 20 years ago. Probably has been completely redesigned since I was on it.

I’m going off the road markings that are present on the photo ... and you can just about make out light posts at those stop lines.
It has probably had a few re-designs over the decades/years.

If that’s at me, then we’re talking at cross purposes, there are two roundabouts being talked about like
