I've moved and I still need a smaller car if I want the wife to drive me, which I do. But do I want that more than I want to get rid of my beloved beemer? I don't know.

Definite front runner. I want the facelift though which as with everything I want, is "just" over budget. I literally only want things I just can't afford.

Maybe the 125d or 130i then? They are future classics being the last rwd 1 series...

i have both a leon cupra and a 125d in my group of friends, and while the 125d is really fast and torquey the cupra is a BEAST

There are no straight roads here

*edit : this dealer takes of the wheels of the cars and attach the dyno to the axes of the car, he is known for his tuning work and he was a wel known racing and rally driver. I have seen how he works on cars in the past
I mean the driver used for 'Ring laps can have a bigger effect on lap times than 50hp.

Hub dynos are not top level stuff, Especially for accuracy. For A-B testing they are fine, but absolute numbers to compare, no way. No Dyno is really. And it's still not clear if it's a converted number.

But... Before posting I should check some of the other numbers. And the USA version traps 108mph through the 1/4 mile with a 0-60mph in
4.9-5ish seconds. Trap speeds don't lie. And 108 with a mediocre 0-60 means tons of power. Way more than the rated 306. It also shows that it is really traction limited on launch.

yes its not a dragracer, but that's not popular here anyway, here it's all about exiting corners and the ability to pick up speed after bends

The drag strip is the 'honest dyno'. Plus the testing gives an acceleration profile. In this case poor out of low speed corners because it is as I suspected traction limited, but the 108 mph trap speed agrees with your shop in the sense that Honda is underrating their power. The test car with 108 trap was listed as 306 bhp. Lol. Way more than that to get 108. Maybe goes back to the old Japanese 280 PS gentlemen's agreement, where they just lied about adhering to it. Ah the good old days...
