One of my favourite fast foods - packet tortellini to which I add mixed mushrooms, onion, garlic, parmesan, loads of olive oil, then fry it with some butter so you get a nice crispy edge.

“Ugh, I’m so sick of bad food. It’s hard to be a shut in and have good food delivered.”

    You’re a “shut in”?
    Please elaborate.

I’m not really a shut in. It’s just been so hot lately I haven’t gone out much, other than going to the gym a couple of times a week. The idea of going to restaurant in hundred degree heat is not very compelling over paying for delivery.

Yup. 99F highs last two days. Had to run out to the post office to drop off my Pan Europ and then go to the market for some food and drink for the house today and it was unpleasant. Not much cooler on previous days. Had chicken souvlaki and fingerling potatoes with capers, olives, and feta for lunch today though, and my mom's tandoori chicken for dinner (baked it in the oven, too hot to go to the roof and use the grill), so it was a good food day.

It’s my brother’s birthday today and he’s off this week from work, so we ordered lunch in from a bar called Village Whiskey. 8oz of fresh ground beef, bleu cheese, and nice, thick smoked bacon. Side of house made thousand island dressing, duck fat fries, and pigs in a blanket. Excellent.

We treated ourselves to a beautiful fillet of wild steelhead trout, roasted tiny Yukon Golds and some steamed broccoli. I oven baked the trout with simple capers, butter and garden Meyer lemon, then topped with chopped garden basil and shiso leaf. (I gave myself the crumbled edges so my fish looks a bit of a mess.)

Too many watches, not enough wrists.
