    I normally do all ingredients finely chopped when doing puttanesca, should perhaps try this way some time. I imagine flavours will be a bit different.

    Both ways are good. When you do the fine chop the whole dish has that umami flavour of everything. When it's big you get a spicy chunky tomato sauce with blasts of one thing or another.

    PS This is a delicacy where I live also. I realize most of you wouldn't touch these things but we eat them like it's our last meal on earth.

    Some people use potatoes, some use corn, some use sausage, some use combinations of all of those. I use potatoes and corn. There was a sausage incident with my wife once. Too much crab boil soaked in and she ate the sausage and her lips swelled up to the size of small dinner plates. She looked just like a Kardashian.
