So I did 13.12 miles (half marathon) in 2hr3 mins which was pretty hard, had a bit of a walk then jogged until 14 miles. Gonna hurt in the morning. Don't fancy that again.

I thought you were trying to put on a little mass. What happened with that?

No I still am - the running was for 'fun'. I'm still not sure lean bulking isn't possible, mind.

I always hated running. Always will. I only run if it's an emergency. :-)
Hope you're not too sore today. I can well imagine tho.

Running is just awful, far too much stress on the body. Getabike :-)

It's more fun, less physical strain and better cardio.
There are forums and very expensive things to buy in support of your next hobby too, sounds perfect!

Not so much with the downhill trails, unless you really want to destroy your knees.

You young punks probably have no conception of permanence as it relates to physical injuries but if you want to find out the hard way keep on running downhill. Running is super high impact, and running downhill dumps your entire upper body weight on your knees with each step. Might take a while to do the damage but once it's done you'll realize the folly of your ways. If you absolutely must run downhill at least have the decency to do it on an unpaved piste, which is slightly more forgiving than tarmac or god help you concrete.

I was saved from discovering this lesson the hard way by observing the effects of downhill running on the knees of others. The human body is a finite resource as you shall discover if you survive into your dotage. You only ever get two knees and if you bung them up early in life you're going to have a long time to regret your foolishness. Even the best surgical remedies are crap compared to the original equipment. Be kind to your body!
