Does anyone know if GS uses AR coating on both sides of the glass or just the underside? It doesn't seem to say in the specs apart from stating there is AR.

I can't seem to see any tell tale tint.

I don't have proof, but I'm pretty sure based on my GS SBGR083 AR is not coated on both sides. My Ebel 1911 BTR is coated on both sides and there is a significant difference.

I was just looking at the range of quartz GS. Even the SBGV011 has heavy integrated lugs.



Have they done quartz with a more elegant shape, with more modest lugs like on the SBGR061?

Simple answer is no. The SBGR case you have posted has only ever featured 9Sxx movements, even the SD versions have slightly different, sharper lugs. There are of course other quartz cases like the Mod's or the more 'vintage' looking cases like the SBGX041. The new "I don't know what to call them yet" SBGV series has rather slender lugs too (SBGV013/015/017)

I would call them "scalloped integrated" lugs, but I'm not aware of anyone else who would

In GS case/lug design there seems to be three variables:
- whether the case goes wider than the bezel
- whether the lugs are integrated into the shape of the case
- whether the lugs are scalloped or straight

So in this one you just directed me to the case is wider than the bezel, lugs are integrated but scalloped.
