The Last Stop in Yuma County

I’m not really sure what to think about this one. I really wanted to like it, but I found it tonally troubling and inconsistent and while I was initially pleased with the scant 90 minute run time, it felt like this crime thriller set in a diner came out just a bit undercooked. It owes a lot to movies that came before it and did it better (and worse). I think this movie owes a little too much to Tarantino and I don’t mean that in a good way, considering the low regard in which I hold Tarantino.

Mickey 17 was terrible. I turned it off halfway through.

The first trailer I saw of it made it look like a serious Sci fi, or maybe I misremembered it. It's a silly film. Very disappointing, I was looking forward to it.

To continue the OT, I tried it with iron sights today, and my aim is defo better with only one eye open. @Raza, did you have to train yourself or is it your natural way of aiming? Or are there any reasons you do it that way? (I believe they may be differences between combat and sports/competitive shooting techniques?)

A little of both, I think. I’m right handed and left eye dominant, so once I realized that, I found it very natural to aim with both eyes open because my brain kind of blocks out my right eye anyway and it doesn’t affect my aim at all. But if I’m aiming something where the natural positioning of my head forces me to use my right eye (a lot of rifles aren’t comfortable for me to use my left eye on, especially when wearing bulky ear protection), I will close my left eye if it’s interfering with my field of vision. But the way I aim a pistol, I am always in the position to use my left eye through the sights. I don’t know where my ancient DSLR is, but if I remember correctly, I always use my left eye in the viewfinder, so my right eye is either blocked or closed.

Decided to write about this one:

Honestly one of the hardest posts I’ve ever written because it’s difficult to write about things I felt were middling. But it was too late to pivot.
