I don't think the acquisition of CFB was about the watches and more about the retail chain of stores. My understanding is the watches have been a loss for several years now. I did think the peripheral rotor was a cool setup. Maybe some of this tech may find it's way into a Rolex or Tudor movement or sold to someone else?

My Rolex/Tudor AD back in Pompano Beach was also a CFB AD. About six years ago they stopped putting the watches in the store, but you could order one. Without having something to try on I did not see this working.

I assumed as much, but my question still stands for those who own CFBs - will Rolex continue to offer servicing or are they screwed?

Modern watches average between $495 and $750.
Vintage watches average between $595 and $1500.
    High-grade watches average between $700 and $1100.

Where does a chronograph fall in those servicing tiers?

I had a Fortis 4 hander serviced there in fall '20 and it was around $550.

If you're thinking about using RGM, I should warn you that the wait is six months or more for a non-RGM watch. They've had my Nienaber jump hour since the end of July of last year, and they told me it didn't need any parts, just a service.

They were dead on their estimate when I had my last watch serviced with them, but there wasn't much backlog at that time. I think it was 6-8 weeks.

The mainspring snapped and on the previous service the mainspring cover is loose, including overhaul my local watch service cost me around $300

That's about right for a basic movement at a smaller shop around me.

My wife's Bathyscaphe went back to Blancpain for repair and full service, it was $800.

These are the prices for Omega and Tag.

Me personally I would go through them. Also if you bring it to the Boutiques some have watch makers onsite. I know the Cartier in Boston does. I brought my watch in for complete service and got it back less than a month.

My assumption is that servicing will be available. It could be detrimental to future brand acquisitions or launches otherwise

Thanks! One of the big things that would draw me to RGM is that not only are they a local business, I can drive my car there and drop off in person (if they allow that, it’s only about 2 hours by car) and avoid the post, which unnerves me. The TAG price is great—cheaper than I played for an indie a decade or more ago, but the Omega price feels very high. $900 for a Speedmaster service?
