What happens with servicing their in house calibers? I’d be concerned if I spent real money on a higher end CFB.

    That's a good point.
    Cheers,

Well, that sucks. Bucherer’s watches were always on my consideration list. Many very nice models.

Gorgeous, but the best part of £18,000. It’s a non-limited special edition for the 2026 Winter Olympics.
It is gorgeous. I don't have a spare £18,000 lying around though, sadly.

It was a brand of interest for me also. No longer after the acquisition by Rolex, but I didn't expect they would be shut down, and so quickly.

Does this seem reasonable for a service in today’s market? My Speedmaster is in definitely need of service, it’s been way too long and the timekeeping is way off now. And my Monaco LE is straight up not running, but I don’t think I’ll service them both at the same time unless I can drive out to RGM and drop them both off in person (they’re about 2 hours away).

Modern watches average between $495 and $750.
Vintage watches average between $595 and $1500.
    High-grade watches average between $700 and $1100.

Seems a touch high, but with the caveat that I haven't had to service a watch for a few years. I think when I had my brother's Zodiac done it was around $300, but that was at least five years ago.

If you're thinking about using RGM, I should warn you that the wait is six months or more for a non-RGM watch. They've had my Nienaber jump hour since the end of July of last year, and they told me it didn't need any parts, just a service.

Looks reasonable to me, especially when I convert $s to £s.

I paid a fair bit less to service a humble Precista with an ETA 2801, but I would expect that, and the technician was some anonymous bloke, possibly working from a shed at the end of his garden.

    Yikes, that’s a long wait.

I don't know the market price for watch overhaul in the US, yesterday I took my recently acquired but somewhat problematic vintage Panerai with 6497 movt (bought it from a bad dealer in Japan, they gave warranty but when there's problem they're evading any responsibility with multiple BS)

The mainspring snapped and on the previous service the mainspring cover is loose, including overhaul my local watch service cost me around $300
