In Japan, there are two types of people who get away with breaking “the rules” of society. Gaijin, of course—they call it “gaijin power”, they just assume westerners don’t know any better. The second type is elderly women. The logic is that they’ve lived their lives, raised their children, and they’ve earned the right to color outside of the lines now and then.![]()
