Absolutely loving it. Went out to run some errands the other day, it was pouring rain and it held the road perfectly. It’s such a good fit for me. Plenty sporty, but just comfortable enough that I could drive it for hours and hours and feel fresh as a daisy after. After the initial low oil problem, everything has been smooth as butter.
Got a new battery for the Z4, installed it this afternoon. The car fired right up and I put all the information in and submitted it to Carvana, so I’m just waiting on the approvals. I’m hoping to see approval soon and then have them swing by and pick it up this week.
EDIT: And it’s done! They’ll pick it up on Monday.

The Z4 is officially sold! I had a hold your breath moment when they ran the ODB scanner, because I genuinely had no idea if anything was wrong with it other than what I already knew was wrong with it, but it cleared. 18 years old, 12 years with me, and not a single mechanical problem. The window switches developed a mind of their own, the top decided it was no longer being put away on its own, the CD player decided my Soundgarden belonged to it and it alone, but the engine never once put a foot wrong.

So people actually use Carvana? Go figure. I see the trucks, but they always seem to have the same car on them. I use to see the conveyor dispenser machine close to the airport in Ft Lauderdale, and had a hard time taking them seriously.
Cheers,
Michael

Oh yeah. My friend bought his Impreza through them and my other friend sold his MX-5 to them when he needed money for emergency roof repairs. For selling, it’s so easy, especially if you’re not too concerned about price. You put everything in online, all the details, and they give you an offer. If you decide to move forward, you send them pictures of the odometer, title, and your license, then they come, double check, and hand you your money (or do direct deposit if you want). Could I have gotten a couple hundred bucks more for my Z4? Maybe. But the hassle I saved by not having to invite strangers over to my house and lowball me on it because it wasn’t in good condition was well worth that opportunity cost. I wanted the car gone, I wanted it gone quickly, and I wasn’t too worried about how much I was getting for it. The whole thing from offer to final sale took two days, and I could have done it same day if I had dropped it off instead of waited for a pickup with a Sunday in between. I’m all for frictionless processes.

GTD is a racing car class. In this case GT (Grand Touring) Daytona, and start life as a race car with a few production cars built to allow them to run.
Like all GT class cars they are based on a production car, but these are far more unlimited than GT1 and GTP. Those are more the reverse that start as productiion cars and are highly modified to become race cars. All of these are at the Sebring track thoughout the year and part of the 12 hour event so I see them quite often.
Cheers,
Michael

So, I got my plate turned in (which I don’t think I have to in PA, but what am I going to do with a dirty old plate that I’ve had for like 16 years?) and removed the Z4 from my insurance. I was visiting my mom at the time because the DMV I usually go to is near he and she asked how much I was paying. She promptly called her insurance agent and after about 20 minutes, the agent found me a new policy, saving me $940 a year. Holy shit. 15 minutes may save you 15% with GEICO, but 20 minutes saved me 35% when switching from them.
