We rebuilt two of these when I was in high school. One was this very same yellow and the other I don’t recall what the color was.. We also rebuilt a Lancia beta that was silver with a red leather interior. It had the overhead cam mentioned and was quite fun to drive even though being front wheel drive. most of the Japanese cars from that time were rear wheel drive, except for the Honda and Mazda.

If you drove one with the stick, you would never buy one with the stick. It was so horribly done that there’s nothing fun about the way it shifts or the way the clutch works.
Nearly all the reviews of the new lotus Elise with the manual say similar things about the transmission set up and clutch. Since it would be nearly impossible to find one I doubt whether I can actually confirm that is true. I guess we can hear from our owners here.

I like the idea that @shameless started with posting the vehicle we tested for our licenses with.
Not my picture, however, this is the very same vehicle and color of the 1966 Dodge Dart I got mine with.

1971 Olds Delta 88 is what I took my drivers test in with 18” of snow on the ground. It was my mom’s car. I still had 6 months work on my 442 W30 until it was ready from rebuilding.
