Any climbing lately? How does climbing impact your back? I have only done indoor walls, so I don't know how difficult real climbing is LOL

Plenty of climbing! Just not this week. Back is mostly fine thanks, I could climb but I probably shouldn't. And it's mostly indoors - southern England is flat and cold. Both are totally valid, one is just outdoors.

Did you enjoy climbing/when were you last on the wall?

I really enjoyed it. At 235lbs, it eventually caught up with me, but I did better than I expected. My forearms were spent though!

Yeah I'm one of the biggest climbers in my gym at 217lbs. Just gets exponentially harder as you get bigger.

Reminds me, every time I watch one of the climbing/obstacle course shows on TV I hear them say things such as "he is one of the bigger guys in the competition at 185 lbs", and I realize I am not a natural climber LOL

Back on the fitness bandwagon after I had to spend the first 14 days of the new year in the hospital with a clogged up blood vessel in one of my toes. Docs were kind of guessing what might have caused it. My cholesterol is average, my heart healthy (they checked all that). First they guessed Raynaud syndrome but I never had any symptoms of that. Then they guessed smoking but I never was that much of a heavy smoker and quit years ago. Also quit drinking almost 10 years ago. So my best guess what caused it is lack of movement. Working on the laptop all day and spending evenings in bed watching Netflix, Prime and Disney+. And stuffing myself up to 110 kg in the fall.
So already down to 99 since then - better slowly than gaining it back.
And started light workouts on the elliptical. I'd rather go jogging but weather is absolutely horrible for weeks now. The rain seemingly never stops.
Got myself a Garmin Instinct Solar. My Forerunner 25 is a bit outdated and I wanted to test the solar feature. Seems to work quite well.
Interesting fact - motivation truly spikes when it's no longer, "maybe I should move a bit more and lose some weight" but rather "glad I still can move at all". Suddenly jogging seems like great fun. But I'm gonna start to hit some weights again, too. Used to be in good shape once but that's about 20 years ago.
Still astonished how fast you gain back that stamina though. The first day on the elliptical I thought I can't do this for more than 10 minutes. Now 30 minutes are getting easy. So I should ramp up resistance or go for more duration.
    Cheers, Sedi
