EDIT: In case you meant me and not Geoff, it looks like they were indeed of a similar era. The 250GT Lusso I posted ended production in 1964. The car you spotted seems to be a 500 Superfast, which started production in 1964. Apparently very rare, with a reported 36 ever made.

I will try to get some other photos of interesting cars this week. Alas I have been getting a bit busy at the same time. I need to get out to the shopping area a mile away from here, and loiter a bit to see what shows up. The main events are in nearby towns but the parking gets so crazy near those that I prefer to play voyer from a distance (as in, the grocery store where everyone comes to get their lunch.)
Too many watches, not enough wrists.

Academic as I'm no longer 'in the market'.

    Shame about the rest.

Today I took the Passat out for the first time since getting back. That was interesting. I like my Passat, it's a good car as a workhorse and has served me well for over 14 years; but after a week or so in my new ride, it suddenly feels 'a bit sloppy'.

    I'd hope so. Otherwise... Why?

I can only imagine. What year/model Passat do you have? I believe they split off European and American models after the B5 (the model I had many years ago), so I don’t really have a clue what they’re like over there. But I remember the B6 here, and it was a very different car from my B5, which was surprisingly sharp for a FWD midsizer, but the B6 was much more like its Japanese counterparts. Softer, more comfortable, with a lot more space per dollar.

EDIT: Faulty memory. It was not the B6 that was split geographically, it was the following generation. B6 was the same car in the US and Europe.

Quite. I was expecting a 'bit of a comedown', but not that much. I've always jokingly called the Passat (estate) 'a barge', but it actually felt like one this time out.

It's an '06 B6 Estate 2.0 FSI Sport. It was a dealer's demonstrator car and has 'all the toys', but my wife never liked it as she says the ride is too firm; which is a plus in my book. It's not quick by any standards these days but it's lively enough when you get it over 4500 rpm.

I need this. But I can’t think of a worse place to take photos of a black car to sell. The yellow walls make it look like the paint is faded and the number of yellow pylons or whatever they are makes the paint at the back look badly chipped.

Still, it’s a six speed manual in one of my favorite modern Ferraris. Not my first choice of color, but at least it’s not red.
