    First the mustang, now this.

As I've said I don't mind electric cars conceptually, but don't denegrate the skyline's fine name
The sub-headline on that says it all. “Out with a whimper it is”. RIP Skyline, as if the indignity of being dropped from the GT-R name (and that GT-R being automatic only) weren’t enough.

A combustion engine can’t run underwater because you need oxygen for combustion, among a host of other problems with water getting in engines and what not. But EVs don’t need combustion. As I understand batteries, which is, admittedly, a rudimentary understanding at best, they use chemical reaction to create energy. So, no O2 needed. Assuming like swimming pool conditions, so pressure isn’t a real concern, could you drive an EV underwater?
No. Lithium ion batteries catch fire if the are exposed to water and sometimes explode. They would need some serious containment. When they started putting them into golf carts, you started hearing about them catching fire exploding because people would drive them through deep puddles of water. The battery in my golf cart is contained in sort of an aluminum pelican case with lots of gaskets. It can also be disconnected
and remove from the golf cart rather quickly if fire. That’s not gonna work real well when the batteries built in the floor of the car.

Here is some actual data (only for the US, I'm afraid) of what percentage of energy is generated by what method. You enter your zip code, and it will show you data for the specific grid region you're in.

Guessing not much is renewables? Is this news to anyone?! You're not debunking my point about EVs being less co2 emmissionny are you? Cos we already sorted that!

No, the mix totally depends on where you live. I’m not trying to make an argument either way, just providing an interesting source for actual data as opposed to opinions. On either side.

But, theoretically, if you could shield the batteries, they would run underwater?

They do in Submarines, but different kinds of batteries. You could seal them to the point that they would be fully contained. The cables being the hardest thing to seal to be fully water tight.

Great list. I'de be partial to the Emira, but I wouldn't throw out any of the others either. V10 R8 would be sweet too.

For the 911, I would prefer a manual GT3RS...I recently saw Porshce announced a new driver enthusiast 911, the S/T which is lighter than a GT3. It's limited production with a price tag of nearly $300,000!! Damn.
