The latter points are a main reason I'm not changing, also cos it feels slower. M4 is a superb car, but I want something that feels faster and more nimble, I mean, I'll take it if it's going, but I'm happy with the bm.

If you want it to feel faster (but not necessarily be faster) and more nimble, buy a Mazda MX-5 and just keep your 328i. Going bigger, faster, and heavier is often a way to be faster without feeling faster. Some of the fastest cars I’ve ever driven have also been the most isolating at anything close to legal speeds.

Yeah, the F-Type didn’t feel fast compared to the M3 because it’s a lot slower. The F-Type doesn’t have mind blowing performance—0-60 in 5 seconds with the 8AT, it’s not really about pure straightline speed. That’s what the V8 models are for, I guess.

I’d suggest a Boxster or Boxster S, last gen, pre-turbo. I’m considering one myself.

Granted my F-Type S was tuned up to 440 bhp at the rear wheels and we tweaked the alignment and a few other things, but I don't understand this comment. The F-Type is a scalpel compared to any BMW though I do like some of the BMW steering weight when they still had it. Getting the manual just to have a manual is a mistake on these since the 8 speed ZF is fantastic and given the list of cars that use it possible the best transmission ever made.

I found the Boxer and the Cayman boring to drive thought I've not had a chance to try a Cayman GT4. Once 911 eclipsed 6 figures I've lost interest. The F-Type may be my last sports car but it was never anything as you describe. Just don't get the V8 since it completely ruins the car. Unfortunately that is the only way it is sold now as Jaguar consolidates their lines. Luckily I still have my XK-8 that is a great ride to church and diner and breakfast on the weekends. GT cars and trucks are getting to be more my style now.
    Cheers,

    Michael

Ah well. We can still be friends.

Yeah 440bhp would be better. I think you have to find some really windy roads to appreciate handling properly tbh, well, to make the reduced straight line speed over the M4 a worthy compromise. Or a track. Neither of which I had on my test ride.

2018 Dacia Sandero SCe 65 bhp 1.0 litre 3 cylinder engine - cheapest new car money can buy I believe. Struggles to get up hills which I feel is a genuine measure of underpowered. Better bass than the sound system in my m4 though Name: 20211221_121016.jpg

My experience comes from the back roads here and track time. BMWs don’t do well at the track except against other BMWs. Magazine’s I find it funny that the new Supras crush the BMWs here at Sebring.
