Update on my car search: I have started to consider certain sport sedans, namely a 2008-2014 generation Subaru WRX STI. I came very close to getting an STI in college and due to some unforeseen circumstances, I wasn’t able to. This would nice, closing that loop on an emotional level. The TT RS is still my number one choice, but due to its rarity and this crazy market, the prices just may too much at the moment.

    Hooligan.

Aren’t they a bit raw and basic?

If you get the Limited trim, there are enough creature comforts to make me happy. Leather seats, a sunroof, I think heated front seats too. I can do navigation through my phone, so I don’t even need built-in satnav. I’ve been driving a Z4 for 7 or 8 years, most anything is going to be more comfortable and practical. I feel like something like that would be closer to that raw feeling you get driving a proper sports car.

I was also looking at Evo Xs, but now apparently people think they’re collector’s items, so even the most clapped out examples are going for $50,000 or thereabouts.

Right now it seems like all cars are priced like collector’s items.

I'm driving my 328i whilst my m4 is still in the shop. Honestly it's about 80% as good as the M4 and wroth 1/4. I reckon a 435i would do the job just fine.

I'm looking around because the thought of water sloshing around has somewhat tainted the car for me. A bit like my omega.

Some interesting ice on the car this morning. We had our first freeze last night with some rains the day before. My winter car sits outside mostly in the shade so still had water beaded on it last night.

I'm not ready for the cold weather yet.
