Looks good. Actually comes with a manual. But it will probably be a porker. The chassis is a carry over from the 370Z so I doubt it will be lighter then it especially since I imagine the twin turbo motor adds some weight.

Why are all sports cars so heavy anymore except the Miata and the Frisbee twins? Lower weight is so much more important then power.

The way Road and Track reported it, 400HP and 6 speed manual are the base equipment.

It’s very enticing and I like the looks. Once the options boxes start getting ticked, 40K is more like 50K, and certainly more than I’d want to spend on my next car, but hopefully it has a nice, long production cycle, just like the 350Z.

Yesterday I learned about driving my convertible in the rain.

Got caught in a proper downpour with the roof down - hammered it down. Turns out over at over 60 mph the rain doesn't get in the car at all, weirdly, you just push through it it seems. I drove at that speed for 10 minutes in a decent shower and didn't get a drop on me or in the interior. Until I slowed down at a junction to 30....

Anyway, there we go.

Yup. Just be careful, because sometimes the wind shifts when you’re coming to the lights and you get rain down your back. Been relatively dry in many a deluge and snow flurry with the roof down in my Z4. It’s a terrific joy.
