I mean, I live in a major city and I don’t even walk on grass if I can avoid it. Suffice it to say, a car like the Ford Bronco is interesting, but not what I’m looking for in a daily driver. As for the compromise in space/comfort/etc, despite the way I talk sometimes, I’m still a fairly young guy and prefer a firmer, sportier suspension. If I want cushy, I’ll order an Uber Black, you know?

Understood. Did not know you did not have an outdoors side. The trip to Hawaii and Japan kind of led me to think differently about your likes. My brother and I both lived around your area at some point in our life, and every other weekend we were more other places than in the city. Age really is not a factor with either vehicle type other than as you get older your tend to have more vehicles than you really need. While I canceled the Bronco I had on order I see one coming my way once the hype has lessened in a year or so. Plus I'm going to need something to tow a boat to try out a few other lakes probably next year.

Oh yeah, I’m not very outdoorsy at all. Maybe once a year I get the itch and I go kayaking or to a beach or something and then I’m set for a year, sometimes maybe two. And for something like that, I just rent everything I need or lean on my more outdoorsy friends to do things like drive (which I repay back with dinners and the like). Japan and Hawaii did appeal in different ways (though when I lived in Japan, I lived in Tokyo, so I was in the concrete jungle most of the time, other than a brief holiday in Hakone, really. I’m much more of an urban adventurer, though I don’t mind the occasional step out of my comfort zone. And make no mistake, the Bronco is really neat and I like it a lot. But I’m not in a position to own multiple vehicles at the moment and something like the Bronco wouldn’t fulfill my visceral needs behind the wheel.

Okay, I'm adding another car to the list, even though it's a big softie compared to the other ones, it's still a good car overall and fits most of my needs. Audi S5. Manual coupes seem to depreciate a lot on the used market, which is a windfall for me. Used, they're comparable or even cheaper than similar M235is, which start life a size and price class lower than the S5. It's a little long, at 182", but it's not too bad.

Looks good. Once it's clean I wipe mine down with microfiber and quick detailer after each wash to maintain it under the hood.

All would be 2012 or newer, so I guess that’s where I’m sticking my baseline. I supposed I could also look at 435i coupes, since there are probably more of them around. Still some months away from even beginning to seriously look, but I’m glad I’m narrowing down (and then slowly increasing) the field of options. Always good to have some ideas and be flexible.
