That’s the beauty of an A4, even standard it’s still fun.

I test drove a 2021 CX5 AWD Turbo the other day. Way nicer that I thought, and plenty of oomph for an SUV - (0-60 in the 6 second range) Paddle shift, heads up display and a super nice interior. Now that we have a new born, time to start thinking about something more practical than the Miata, Lotus, and 14 year old Honda Element.

Hose out interior of the Element seems pretty practical for driving around a newborn, to be honest.

We used to have a CX7 some time ago. It was pretty nice. And I walked away unscathed when it got totaled.

It's just the 14 year old issue. But the Element is great and I plan to keep it.

Ooh, sorry to hear about the wreck. Glad it protected you. I've read great things about the safety ratings of the Mazdas as well as the agile handling and drivability compared to the competition. If I have to drive an SUV, handling and performance would be nice, after safety of course.

I looked into Kia and Hyundai for like a second, but after driving the CX5 there's no point in even test driving those others.

My friend can get me a corporate discount on Volvo, but an XC60 spec'd the way I'd want it is almost twice the price of the CX5 Turbo...so nope. They look dope though - and heated massage seats! yes please.

My wife's car and our road tripper/dog car/grandkid car is a '16 T6 XC90 we bought new in Jan '16. It's made two stops at the dealer for repairs, one under warranty, the other out of pocket around 80k miles (I do the maintenance) and it's currently ~95,000 miles. Coming from BMW and MB previous drivers for her, we've been happy with the brand. NVH isn't as good as the Germans, but overall the driving experience is good and it has good features at a variety of price points.

I called to buy the only manual convertible M4 available on autotrader/ebay today. It was sold yesterday. Angry.
