I followed this car through its development. I use to attend sports car racing events quite a bit when I was younger. It helps to be close to Daytona and Sebring where you live. From attending a few driving schools I've always appreciated drivers and cars that are smooth and flowing on the track. When I can get it right I have been very fast at these schools. I came to appreciate Andy Pilgrims driving style from watching a few races he was in. He does not abuse a car, yet he can milk out consistently fast lap times. He had a lot of input on the development of the LC500 and I could tell it was balanced, smooth and quick where the Jag requires more attention to drive fast. Add that this has room in the cockpit, a trunk that you can fit a weeks worth amount of luggage and a back seat that an under 6 foot tall adult can fit in(Larger than the 911's I've had). Since it is a coupe it does take some maneuvering to get back there. Mostly a few dogs would be our ride mates back there, but people can fit in a pinch.
With all the tech in the cars these days it's good to have two cars from the same brand. Add that the controls are reasonably similar between the ES and the LC. I know the differences between the Jag, Infiniti (Least amount of tech) and Honda (most amount of tech) have me looking in the wrong places for things, or having to remember that the car you are in does not have a specific piece of tech. The ES and LC both have the most up to date systems so this is a big plus.
