Cheers,
Michael
Tell everyone you saw it on IWL!
I think it looks through and through an Audi. It has much more in line with the Audi's of recent history than any modern Lexus.
What does it look more like?
or
I mean, there's no comparison. The front end of the Lexus is supremely busy, the grille shape is exaggerated, the sides are high and bland, without any styling at all.
Personally, I think Audi makes basically the best looking cars on the market and every car they make is either the best looking in its class or close to it.
This is my brother's S5 Sportback and it's totally hot:
The black S4 in the garage is mine now, and I still sometimes just stare at it because it's so good looking (though it's been out of production for a while, it's a 2011 or 2012).

I can see where Michael sees the Lexus resemblance.
I think Audi makes some of the nicest interiors in the business, but the exterior is usually basic/subdued. They're attractive in an under the radar way for most models. The S and RS models ramp up the exterior styling a bit, but they're still pretty restrained.
It's great that Audi is bringing another nice wagon to the US market. With the cancellation of the CTS-V wagon in 2015, we were left with only the E63 for performance wagons. I hope they bring an A6 and S6 version, too.
Anybody catch Hyperdrive on Netflix? It's like American Ninja Warrior but with cars and drifting...

More cheap winter car updates:
The central locking system isn't working. Locks and trunk release are vacuum operated, a throwback to the old days when electronics were unreliableTraced lines, wiring, located the pump under the rear seat. I think it's dead. Hopefully a swap will have the locks working again.
Changed some fluids yesterday and sorted the headlight washers. Poor placement of the drain plug had me doing some aluminum foil engineering to solve the problem.
Not much clean up necessary in the engine bay, it's nice working on an old car that isn't rusty and covered in almost a quarter century of grime and leaking fluids.

For Raza:
I saw this Z in town today. I've never seen this color on one before. It really was stunning.
It's. 2016, the lady said she special ordered it and went to Munich to take delivery.
54650
That's a rare color on any car.
Unfortunate, though, the turn BMW took with that generation. They discontinued the M version, went to a folding hardtop, softened the whole thing up. It was still better than, say, an SLK of the same generation, but it was not the sports car the Z3 and first Z4 were. The new one had potential to be a return to form, but automatic only (in the US, and manual only on the smallest engine elsewhere) really hurt its credibility.
The 2nd gen was a looker. Not as good looking as my car, which shifted the paradigm of styling across the entire world, but it's hard to live up to a disruptor. (Okay, technically the E65 7 series came first, but that was a tame beast compared to the Z4 and it's Z4 design language that lives on in many cars, not just BMWs, today)
I still catch myself staring at it.
