Meh. They probably seem cooler to you across the pond because they are not as ubiquitous as they are over here, whereas Triumphs and Ducatis are much fewer on the ground in the US. It's kind of like how Japanese react to squirrels when they are in the US--they are fascinated by them because they don't exist in Japan, but to us they're just everyday rodents...

Why?

Harley-Davidsons appeal to a certain type of person in the US and I want nothing to do with Harley culture. I wouldn't spend a penny on anything officially licensed from Harley-Davidson if it meant they got my money.

As bikes alone, they're big fat pigs that handle like crap, feel like crap, and sounds like crap. They're bad bikes that are popular.

It looks like it's trying a bit hard, but I generally like MV Agusta. Though the F3 and F4 appeal to me more than the Brutale. Also a fan of Aprilia. But nothing even they make appeals to me like the now defunct Ducati Sport 1000:
