A 911 was always a grail car for me. My sole 911 was my 2009 Cabriolet Carrera 4S (997) white with the red clay top and interior. Amazing car but given how little I drove it it was very expensive to maintain. These are also known for the bearing issues. Each generation ups the performance bar. The air cooled thing is just that...a thing. They are really loud and not just the noises from the exhaust. The water cooled cars have been much better performers and the ride and handling gains are worth it. As a sole car I would not buy one given the cost to maintain unless it is something you can take on some of the load yourself. When cars start to get 10 plus years you need to start replacing everything in (hoses, brake lines....)them. I went through this over a 2 year period with the 2002 XK8. I have a friend who just bought a mint 2014 911 and even just five years old the maintenance has him questioning the decision. It will be even more for an older one. For comparison my 2016 FType I have not spent a single penny on maintenance since it is covered through 2021. The 911 handles maybe a hair better, but not that much better that I would take on the cost of having one again.
I cannot find a picture of the car anywhere, but this one is close including the wheels. I m not certain if that is the clay red interior and as I said mine had the matching top not black like this one.

Cheers,

Tell everyone you saw it on IWL!
Doing a bit of research into cars of the 40s and came across the Ferrari 166 MM. Oh my good god, this car is gorgeous. Remember when Ferrari made beautiful cars?

I don't really think of cars as starting until the 1960s, but damn.
Any of you know what kind of transmission it had? I assume a 4 speed manual, like the Porsche 356.
Which was quite the looker as well:

Looking at 435i convertibles - so close to being able to afford one!
Then I discovered this gem - 3 liter 3 series hybrid 302bhp +54bhp from the electric hitting 60 in 5.3 seconds. Only 2.4 miles on electric only which isn't ideal - 10 or so and this might be the perfect engine. Why are there only 4 on autotrader?! And why didn't they put this engine in the 4 series so I could have it in my convertible?

Mmmmmm top speed of 120mphI don't really think of cars as starting until the 1960s, but damn.(where its name is derived from) and drums all round
- nice until you want to stop.
The later 140 was the first Jag to have the option of a 3 speed auto box
It was a 4 speed manual afaik
How about a Daimler Dart? (AKA SP250)

It's dead. It's off the twig, it's kicked the bucket, it's ceased to be!
The Camaro is gasping it's last breath. Again.
GM announced production will cease the end of its current iteration in 2023.
Sales just suck. They can't meet the Mustang or Challenger numbers, so out it goes.
