I have. Apparently it’s rare, but does happen.

I've never watched the modern day 'gone in 60 seconds' film - I've seen tiny tiny bits of it and thought it's a typical new james bond style of film, with adrenalin pumping music all the way through it - which I hate with a vengeance .... sound effects and hectic sound track take a front seat in preference to a plot.

I didn't know there was a 1970's version of the film ........ which happens to be on TV today - so I'm watching that.

You should watch the remake--it's very bad. Very bad. But it's got some great looking cars and it's relatively good fun. Some snappy writing (some) and Nic Cage is his patented form of awful, as usual.

As someone who spent a great deal of time during their younger years assembling 100point show cars (mostly Mustangs) that thing is horrible. If your going to screw up a perfectly good GT500 then you should at least do it like this one(below). If you can't see the difference then I don't know what to say.

I'm almost certain it's a bespoke car built off a base Mustang and not an original GT500. But the one you posted does look better.

Here's a little more detail on the Eleanor (officially licensed):
    https://www.fusionmotorco.com/blog/f...leanor-mustang

"We wanted to be sure to not give our clients aftermarket bodies; we wanted to give the client an original title for a ’67 or ’68 fastback Mustang, so we started buying cars in all sorts of conditions. We are constantly testing what the best condition is to buy them before we take it down to bare metal and media blast it, etcetera. We get the body on a Unijig, square the whole thing back to new, replace any metalwork that’s rusted, basically make the bare frame as strong, if not stronger than it was when it rolled off the factory floor. From there, after we’re done with all the metal work, we would go into building the body kit, finalizing cosmetic bodywork, and then of course paint before we finish assembly, upholstery, etc."

So that finished product could have started life like this:

    And probably not like this:

Like I said, the one you posted looks better, but I do think this is sexy as hell:

I'm almost ashamed to say that this car and that terrible, terrible movie is what sparked my interest in vintage muscle cars in the first place. Before Gone in 60 Seconds, I had almost no interest in muscle cars, except thinking it was cool that the Duke boys got into and out of their car through the window.
