I had one of these back in the late eighties as my first of many Jags. Beautiful to look at, but otherwise a total POS. At that time they really had no value restored so I did what now would be called a resto-mod. The V12 was converted to have a dry sump oiling system, Mikuni carbs, all electronics converted over to easy to source Toyota based items, shocks, and suspension all redone with Teflon and Koni coil-overs...I machined all the brackets and things at my dad's shop at the house. I actually made decent money on it when I sold it a few years later. Now I have my XK8. Much easier way to get there and a worlds better car.
