Ragu of wild boar on herbed soft polenta. Do I really need to say how freaking delicious this was?

I remember when I used to visit family for the summer. We used to spend the 8weeks summer holidays in Italy. 6weeks at the beach and the other two visiting family
Even though it was in the high 30° we used to make polenta often.
My uncle had a huge copper pot with an electric stirer clamped on the side.
My favourite time was clean-up. Once the polenta dried on the bottom I put a little milk and ate it like cornflakes

Some of the winter stockpile of garlic is starting to go soft. Time to confit it.

There are at least to great things about mussels; they are freaking delicious and out here at least, they are incredibly affordable.

These ones were sort of a Mexican take on mussels.

Dinner on this quiet rainy night at home - wild mushroom polenta with home grown asparagus & prosciutto. Petit Basque cheese on a cheese curler, fresh olive bread. Homemade fava bean puree.
