New q8 soon

I saw this two days ago at the dealer (while turning in my A3 diesel). Looked sharp.

Well, turns out Mrs. Cor didn't get the Highlander after all--we were all set to go, then found out that the side mirrors don't fold in (except manually) and therefore it won't fit our garage unless you get out and manually fold the mirrors in every time.

We then were close to getting an Infiniti QX60, but both of the ones we drove had check engine lights on, supposedly because they had both run out of gas (new, mind you) and they hadn't cleared the light. Now, that might not cause any damage (at least not unless you keep letting it happen over and over) but we felt it spoke poorly of the dealer. So now she's back to square one...

Nissan's interior design department is constantly high on something. I've never been in a modern car with an interior so poorly designed as I have been in every Nissan I've gotten into. Even that Armada I drove in Napa was really poorly designed. Everything is where you don't expect it to be, there isn't space where you need it, there's too much space where you don't need it, and the navigation system sucked too. I have little confidence in Nissan/Infiniti designs. Maybe the car they did with Mercedes will have better interior design, but that's kind of a big maybe because even Mercedes can make some strange design choices.

Not big enough, I’m afraid. She likes the Q7, but finds it hard to get into (she’s only five feet tall). Same with the Porsche Cayenne.

Yes. Not for everyday use, but sometimes all four of us make a road trip to see my wife’s family, about 4-5 hours away, and a Q5/Macan sized car can’t hold all of us plus our luggage. Especially the way the ladies pack...

That one was too big, kind of like a Toyota Sequoia or an Infiniti QX80. We may reconsider the GLE.

Not sure how a hybrid with an internal combustion engine competes directly with an all-electric Tesla, or other similar cars.

Might I suggest one of the Volvo SUV. They do not have the excessive ride height, have great interiors and have been pretty well regarded in the press.


They also have a wagon variant that looks pretty nice.

Even if I could get over them being owned by Geely, there isn’t a dealer near us.
