Hot smoked pork, bbq beans with a hickory smoked cheese. I over smoked the cheese but it actually balanced well with the beans which were a bit sweet on their own.

Trying to stay ahead of the squirrels (they're jerks) and needing to do something with large quantities of underripe white nectarines that they take one bite from and drop to the ground. SO... white nectarine chutney (or should I say "green white nectarine"?) with proper canning techniques as I plan to give a lot of this away. There are about a dozen different spices in it. Not capsicum-hot but very flavorful. There will be another batch of this in a few days. Sigh... the whole crop is bust, and this is the best I can make from it.

Too many watches, not enough wrists.
I am glad you can at least make something of them this year.
I am having terrible trouble with flea beetles and my cabbages and mustards this year, but that seems so much less than your woes.

Oh we know flea beetles. Two years ago they hit us hard on the two most high-sulfur crops in our garden - arugula and horseradish. I think they must eat these crops to make themselves taste bad to predators, and it seems to work. Nothing eats them. We tried spraying the leaves with capsicum (ground up habanero with vinegar and oil) but it just kept them away for a few days. On the other hand, I sprayed the habanero mixture a few days ago on the last remaining Japanese melon in our garden, and so far (fingers crossed) the little bastard squirrels have stayed away.

I used to find the crop they liked most and leave at least one of them as a decoy feeder. They always leave my radishes alone if I plant a mustard nearby. I have found the same results with my choy as well. They do seem to go for sharper more bitter members of that family.
My problem has lessened radically since inviting Chickadees to nest right beside my garden. I also managed to attract some house wrens this year and they eat flea beetles too.
