Much easier to work on for modding, repairs or just general maintenance.

It's showing the 16 years of wear but still puts a smile on my face.

So on Thursday I'm scheduled (weather permitting, presumably) to go test drive the new Ferrari Portofino. A swanky event, I'm to drive to one location whereupon I will be helicoptered (yes) to the undisclosed test location. This all makes me sound like I'm Bill Gates, which I assure you I am not--but the salesman who sold me my Aston got me invited (their dealership is now exclusively Ferrari). I've never driven a Ferrari, nor ridden in a helicopter, so should be fun.

I shall of course report back...

    Enjoying retirement, then.

Yes. Mostly. Last week and this have been consumed with moving my daughter, and now packing up, loading and moving a bunch of our own stuff. Way too much manual labor for my delicate (and elderly) disposition.

Amazing. Amusingly I've done both, but couldn't afford a single one of your watches! Enjoy the ferrari - there is something special about them (even if it's in the mind).

Come now, you could afford quite a few of my watches—I have a number of pretty affordable ones, like the H2O I wore yesterday.

Pretty sure Mrs. Cor wouldn’t allow me to buy a Ferrari, but it should be fun.

I’ve never flown in a helicopter, so I’m jealous of that. I loved A-Team and Airwolf as a kid!

Sounds like an awesome experience. Plus, the Portofino is Ferrari’s best looking car out right now and, if I had to guess, one of the least numb to drive. The 430 I drove felt so anesthetized once you got over the awe of being in a Ferrari—something about the fixed roof and automatic transmission just made the whole thing feel uninvolved. Hope that’s not the case with the Portofino. I know they said they were putting a 6MT in its predecessor (don’t know if that ever happened), but I think the Portofino will be paddles only. Have fun, Ml. I’m super jealous.

Wow that does sound like fun Bill , enjoy. I’ll be here pecking away at my keyboard. No helicopter, no Ferrari. But I do have a McLaren

Nope, paddles only. I think these cars nowadays have so much power that only the most skilled drivers (doesn’t include me) could possibly wring more performance out with a stick. IMO the best place for a stick these days is with a car that doesn’t have huge hp and scary limits, like an MX-5 or a Boxster.
