I saw an early 90 s XJS sitting in a parking lot here locally and I couldn't help but think what a handsome car it is.

And yet, at the time people complained about the ‘flying buttresses’.

    Or was it a soft-top?

That seems extreme to me but I don't know what he knew and when.

So jealous! I mean, for one, getting to drive on the Top Gear track (which is shockingly more technical than it seems on TV, if its render on Forza is accurate) is a dream come true. Second, a GT350 and a GT40!? The Mustang GT will be fun and nice to compare to the old Shelby and the 458, I assume, will be a bit of a very fast sort of meh based on the 430 I drove, but that is bound to be an amazing day.

Either way, the XJS has aged very gracefully. As the story goes, the buttresses were a mistake; the car was originally going to be mid engined, and when they scrapped that idea, they left the buttresses.

I know! Eleanor was booked up unfortunately but the 350 should be good fun. Gt40 shocked me - I don't know how they let novices hammer it round a track. It isn't until April but something to look forward to.
