I made scrambled eggs, toast, and bacon for brunch today myself.

It'd be a pretty damn boring place if we all liked all the same things. I am not a breakfast traditionalist. I can't tell you how excited I am that there is finally an Indian restaurant that:

    a) Serves Dosa.

    2) Is open early enough for that to matter.

    And on a personal note:

iii) Even though it doesn't look like the greatest place, I don't care. I'm in at least once.

Breakfast is the only thing I'm pretty staunch on. As you can see I eat everything else for every other meal.

Photobucket has been down since yesterday (no, I still haven't changed yet), so I can't post a pic of the breakfast I made. I call them ugly eggs--I cooked them in the same pan that I used to cook the bacon, so the eggs picked up some of the bacon drippings and the accompanying coloring that comes with bits of bacon (even though I wiped pan).

I have noticed. You are not a picky eater. I like that.

Making a variation of green chili and corn chowder from one of my slow cooker cookbooks. Recipe calls for canned chilis, so using canned Hatch chilis from New Mexico (they are the bomb). I've modified it a bit because we are having my wife's brother over and he is a vegan... so no heavy cream, I'll use coconut milk instead...and no meat. I'll use kidney beans and make it a bit like a chili. Recipe calls for bacon, but I always substitute that for turkey sausage anyway. Should be interesting, but those hatch chilis really make the flavor.

I have tried to get every kind of Hatch chile that they sell, but they do not ship to Canada. They are the best mild chile on the planet. That is not an opinion, that is a fact.

I'm thinking cannelini beans would be good for your purpose.

Dang it. I think you are right. I went back and fourth between those and red kidney beans at the store... Went with red kidney because they came organic...the white one didn't offer an option. I can go back...I don't plan to put the beans in until later anyway... there's option to put some of the soup in a blender to make it smoother. I'd like to do that without the beans - so later in the stage.
