He clearly had the best ribs of any place I tried, and perhaps the best chicken, but they weren't in competition for the ribs (didn't make top 3), and I think their chicken wasn't as good as their chicken last year, which was only a 3rd place chicken finish. It had a sweeter sauce this year, which I guess the judges like more.

    SOS is slightly different here.

Smör Ost Sill (Butter, Cheese, Herring) is the precursor to the famed Swedish Smörgåsbord. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sm%C3%B6rg%C3%A5sbord

It was earlier called a Brännvinsbord (Akvavit/Vodka table from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Br%C3%A4nnvin). You drank (and drank) and then ate butter, hard cheese and various types of pickled herring on crispbread.

Pretty much what we still eat on all holidays (Christmas, Easter, Midsummer's)

Yeah, the old military slang for it.

This wasn't the best I've ever had, but boy did it do the trick. Something nice about a sit down breakfast that I don't have to make. I'd go out for breakfast everyday if I could.

Looks good. Reminds me - how do you g St a sear on your fish yet still have it seasoned? Doesn't the rub burn?
