Not a huge Damascus fan. Prefer something like this

    Or the hammered sides

I have a cheap old "British Steel" 12" chef's knife. My father in law brought it back from the war. It gets dull looking at it, but it is heavy and powers through anything. Anything.

Honing it has become akin to winding a handwind. It's a ritual one comes to love. I have much better knives and 6 times out of 10 the Sheffield gets chosen. It feels right.

It's crazy my best performing knife is an inexpensive fibrox handle Victorinox 10" Chef's knife I got for free from work. That thing is sharp.

    Swedish classic today. Smörgåstårta (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smörgåstårta)

Comes in as many variations as imaginable. Meat- or seafood-based.
    This was with meat.

First filling was paté with cornichons and pickled onions.
Second was horse radish flavoured cream cheese and turkey meat.
Topped with roast beef, turkey meat and cheese cubes.
Then some orange slices and tomatoes (added after pic)

Will be even better tomorrow 😊
