I don't know what I'd get. Actually a 5 door polo gti would be a good shout, or maybe a golf gti. Then a cayman s.
Why wouldn't a convertible be practical in England? I drive a convertible here, and our winters are snowy and summers are humid and punishingly hot now.

Well then, get good. And then buy one.

Wait, is irony when you chase people around on sped up footage?

My friends here that have gotten VW of the past five years have all been reliability nightmares. Most have sold, or done what they could to get out of leases. Ironically those with Audi that have 60-70% of the same parts (and nearly 100% of the samed failed parts) have not had any issues. Are European VW more reliable than the ones in the US, or are you more tolerant to service issues?
    Cheers,

    According to the polls...

I had my polo for 15 months or so I think - 12 month warranty (cpo from a main dealer) and had 2 issues after the 12 months actually - ignition coil, and rear shock. Wasn't too costly, I just see it as a cost of business, especially buying used. I don't care about reliability tbh.

Sussex for sure. Maybe a bit out of Shoreham for more bang for my buck. Commute is about an hour and absolutely fine actually. I almost enjoy it. That said I'm in London 2/3 days a week so...
