The top is down for me unless it's snowing, heavy rain, or below 45F on the highway or 30F on surface streets.

A man after my own heart. Mines a bit simpler. As long as it is not raining the top is down. Most of your other conditions really never occur here, or I've adjusted for them with heated seats and the heater.

Light rain is fine in a two seater--no back seats to get wet, and the bulkhead can take it. You just have to keep moving.

I just got Continental back from the body shop. The painter did an excellent job on blending the paint, it looks great.
It took him a week and half to do the small repair and paint. The color is a very odd Slate Green metallic and it took him a few tries to get the match right.
Now I have to get a cool day to wax it again.

Your clumsy wives often hit your bumper?

We generally do not have light rain. More like a water fall with Thunder and Lightning to go with it. It nearly turned my TT into a tub years ago just waiting for the top to go up on the side of the road(And that one was pretty fast, but required the car be at a full stop). So top up only for rain here. Top configuration and speed is something I look at before buying. The Miata is actually much faster with the manual top. I've pulled up and latched one at the dealer in about 10 seconds. The Pontiac (Solstice) and Saturn (Sky)was one of the worst top setups for Florida that I saw. You had to get out of the car and release and replace some of the covers and lift the trunk to put the top up. It had to take over a minute to do. I thought the car was cool. but after seeing how the top worked I said no way. Would you want to put that up on the side of the road on a busy highway in the rain? I don't know what they were thinking?

Have you tried Zaino car polish system? You can put it on in direct sun light even down here. Nothing shines like it and it gets deeper with the more coats you apply.

    I'll check Zaino out.
I used to use Starbrite Marine Wax. It was Teflon and nothing would stick to it. Ultra shine and lasted a long time, too. I haven't found it since I left the coast.
On a car, it would take a couple of applications to get it perfect. I don't have energy to do that anymore.
