I fully approve of stop-start. Cars are engineered to take it and it means I'm not directing fumes at pedestrians when I stop at traffic lights. As Seriously says, you can control it to a degree with pedal pressure.

I appreciate the intelligence of it too. It switches itself off if it senses that the battery needs charging or if the aircon needs to run. Naturally, it doesn't know that I've stopped in order to reverse into my drive, but that's a minor inconvenience.

So I'm thinking 'downgrade' to this (slightly slower to 60, but a 3l engine, xenons, heated seats, satnav, drop top - all that I don't have, it's just 7 years older so cheaper) and spend the difference on the pcp cost for this. Almost matching blues.

I used to try to always own a convertible. I've had six that I can think of, offhand.
Here in Tennessee, though, there's not enough of a convertible season. The winters are too cold and the summers are too hot and humid.

We only get a few weeks in the spring and fall that are really decent. Not enough to warrant the expense.

Annoyingly I don't think it can get golf clubs in that boot.

I'm always a fan of convertibles Even when I did not live in a place with a nearly all year top down season I've had one for the last 30 years. We tried to convince ourselves we could live without one, but at the 11th hour we went back to needing to have one. We looked at the newer generation of these the 4 series convertible. It really does have a reasonable trunk (boot). Just have small luggage.
    Cheers,

    Michael

Do a real test to make sure, you'd be surprised. The trunk in the Aston doesn't look like it would fit a set, but if I take the driver out of the bag and fit it in separately, it all fits. I suspect this was planned and tested.

The new R6s have tiny headlights. They kind of look like an angry fish.
