335hp V8 exhaust note sounds sweet when it's revved

Sad that he (quite literally) only lives on the other side of the road to work ... you could walk to his house in less than three minutes lol

Straight 6 actually, but still 335hp, yes.

My bad, I just took that info from him, should have done my research.

I'm sure he thinks it's a V8 maybe he's confusing it with the 8 speed gearbox

He's just come from a VW R32, so maybe he just thinks it's similar , a V something

I'll pull him up on it when he drops round and see what he says

Asked him and he was certain it was a V engine. (although he admitted he didn't really know the difference anyway)

He's a nice guy , but he's a bit clueless about this stuff, I ended up explaining the difference between V, straight and boxers which he humbly soaked up.

Fancy dropping 30K on a car like this and not knowing though …..

There are parallels. I bet there are many Rolex owners who have no idea how the movement works. Probably some that think it's going to need a battery change down the road.

Okay, so on my other forum, one guy was talking about getting a new car that's quick and fun, but has to be able to accommodate child seats for when he has kids. He started looking at the 335i, Focus ST, Civic Si, and has now all but settled in on a V6 Toyota Camry, which he wants to modify with lowering springs and some other goofy shit that is worthless on a Camry.

Then I jokingly suggested an Evo. Then I seriously looked into an Evo. Apparently, there are tons of people who fit car seats into them all the time. And now, researching the Evo again, I'm really, really thinking about getting an Evo X after law school.

And look at this bad boy:

I mean, what car comes even close to that fun factor with that kind of practicality for $24K? GTI is more expensive, but not AWD, R32 is AWD, but way more expensive and doesn't have a sunroof (which, as a convertible driver, makes me feel extremely claustrophobic).

I saw one the other day that made me do a double take. For the record, I think the Ford Focus ST is hot too. Have not been in or driven either of them though.

Evos are cheap, but probably because they need complete engine rebuilds every 6k.
