Salt breaks down ground meat. If you like it more meaty or textured add just before cooking and barely blend. If you prefer your burger more homogeneous add the salt an hour or more before cooking.

This one has arugula, caramelised shallot with red wine, and King Cole, a semi-firm blue cheese from a small creamery in British Columbia.
I shouldn't have looked at this when I'm so hungry, close to lunch, and thousands of miles away from a cheeseburger.

Correct on both accounts. Bean sprouts are great, brussels are kind of gross unless you really do it right to make them edible.

Go-to preparation for me is a to give them a heavy sear in bacon fat, almost to the point of charing. Then serve with bacon and perhaps a touch of honey..

When I made them, I would roast them in oven with olive oil and salt. If they were ripe enough, they turned out okay.

As in cook them with chestnuts and barcon lardons in butter to the point you can't taste the Brussels anymore.

This was lunch today. No, I didn't cook it. In fact, no one did.

    And only ¥1200! Under $10.50.

Rent and taxis seem expensive. I have a 250 square foot apartment that costs $1500 a month, minimum taxi ride is ¥730. But the food and other goods seem cheap here. Cigarettes in the vending machines are ¥420-460, which is like $3.65-4.00.
