Aguero charged into Luiz who had his back turned (but still knew what he was doing), and I think that's the reason behind the no call. Azpi played the ball sideways and parallel to the goal, while Aguero kept running toward Luiz and the goal and made a meal of it. Had he slowed slightly and let Luiz run by, he would have easily been in on goal unopposed, but today's football is more about going down and looking for calls from the ref. If the tables were turned and that was Costa going down, there would have no doubt been outcries for a yellow card for simulation. Aguero's theatrics certainly did him no favors in this situation. The analysis I've read from referees have mainly said that this is a very tough judgement call to make, and it's not as clear cut as some are saying. Perhaps even a yellow for Luiz and a free kick, but no clear goal scoring opportunity. We have all seen similar plays called in different ways over the years.

Luiz committed a professional foul Gabe and it was an obvious one as all of his tackles are - it has nothing to do with my bias to City -we shall agree to differ

I disagree that Luiz should have been sent off for the little shoulder nudge.

Luiz committed a foul, there's little doubt about that. It was quite distinct from shoulder-to-shoulder competition for the ball. He intended to block Aguero, and at the very least it was obstruction. Yellow card, indirect free kick. Opposition players and supporters will naturally demand a red card, but I don't think it was - not quite.

so annoying -Leicester who of course didnt need to win tonight to go thru in CL -turn out a useless reserve side against Porto and currently 5 goals down
such a disservice to home and away fans who pay good money and to silly buggers like me that put a bet on them to maybe get a result - maybe they will win the CL and get relegated from PL !!! the latter not being out of the question

An angry City squad will punish them at the weekend and Ranieri's seat will become even warmer.

They need central defenders in January.

Or paradoxically related, if theories about the enhanced Leicester contracts bear any weight.
