I've never seen one, but my fascination (other than Lotus) with British cars is fairly new. Right now I'm in an Austin Healey phase, and I absolutely want one badly. I'll look through my files and see if I got a snap of one from the show Saturday (but I don't think so).

Edit: nope, Alan, I don't see one. I'll be on the lookout for one especially now. There'a actually another British car show/event this weekend up in the mountains. Not sure if I'll go to this one though.

Yep. Third party fire and theft without a pillion rider on a used r6 is 900 quid. Fully comp new is 2.5k.

    Do you ride?

Sure do! I just have 3rd party, and I use a good lock and a GPS tracker, insurance is a killer here too.

My favourite British car. Solid, stately, establishment.
Very very rarely. There are very few Rovers in the US. I see the SD1 the most often for sale.

I would pass. Rotary engines get pretty crappy milage and you had to rev the piss out of this to get it to move. This one seemed to spend a lot of time at the dealer. My good friend had one when I had my TT back in 2003 and it would spin out in 90 degree turns where my TT (Quatro) was on rails when we would race home from work. The only plus was it had a back seat...sort of.

So the fun of having a older, but not yet vintage Jaguar XK8 for my wife. She loves the XK8 as her car. It is a 2002 with only 35K miles on it, so I have had major areas of concern address in 6 month pieces (Trans, brankes, shocks...) so it stays reliable. Today dropped it off to have all the coolant hoses and reservoir, coolant flushed and changed from our Jaguar guy. He is $500 less than the dealer but it will still be nearly $800(Mostly parts). This should be the last piece and have it solid for the next three years.
    Cheers,

    Michael

Those are the two cheapest insurance quotes. The next one (there were only 3 in total) was 11k...
    Wow.

In the US, motorcycle insurance is cheap. They just assume there'll be no one left to pay out to in the event of an accident.
