A car should be an armchair with a constantly changing view.

    Unless parked.

Surprisingly not that fun. Very fast, well controlled, shockingly good ride, but the steering was too light below highway speeds and the pedal was way too soft for my taste. Also, for a car that fast, it lacked the savagery of, say, even a CLS550. Great sounding exhaust though. And it pops when you let off the gas. But I never felt all that dialed in. A big of a letdown. And if you're spending $85-90K, you better love it.
I had an '08 S6 that was a hoot. However, it was a different beastie than the current model--it had the Lambo V-10, and none of the electronic suspension trickery, just a taut, firm conventional suspension that was night and day from the then-standard A6. Haven't driven the current one.

Any of you guys own a 2011-2013 Cayenne ever? Stickshift ones are getting dangerously affordable on Autotrader.

I was really disappointed when I went in one of the early Cayennes. It seemed so cheap that I could believe what they cost. Don't know how they improved with any later updates but I wouldn't touch one

2011 is 2nd generation. The early Cayenne was 12 years ago, let's not forget. The 2011+ is bigger and lighter than the first gen. And a supposedly much improved interior. 300hp V6 may only get it to 60 in 7.5 seconds, but that's plenty quick for an SUV.

I drove one a couple of years ago. "The amazing thing about a waltzing bear is not how gracefully it waltzes, but that it waltzes at all."

I'm more worried about reliability and the ownership experience. I mean, every car on the market with a fixed roof and more than two seats basically drives like crap to me anyway.

Have you ever driven a Panamera? The handling is pretty amazing for such a large car, and this comes from someone who drove a Lotus for nine years. I've had one on a track, too, and the thing just seems to shrink and act like a much smaller vehicle. In terms of reliability and ownership experience, I've had mine for almost four years and 44,000 miles with virtually no issues (knock on wood). I plan to get the extended warranty and keep it three more years; I don't think there's another high performance four wheel drive four door I'd buy in its place.

No, I haven't. But I'd be surprised if I enjoy it. I mean, the S6 left me pretty cold. (Even the Ferrari 430 left me a little cold on a track)

Panameras are out of my price range and not an SUV, so it's not exactly what I'm looking for. My brother's S4 is pretty good, but it's not got the heft and precision of feel that a real sports car does.
