This 40% scotch isn't strong enough. I've been on 50%+ gin and whisky recently. I might have a a problem.

I've just had a similar issue with my bottle of beer. I was only allowed one bottle so I was sure to buy something over 5% so it would register.

5.4% and it just breezed past.

Now I've no sense of being satiated, and no more beer.

    (Fuller's London Porter)

It may or may not be the same with whisky but with me beer is much more about the solids/body/flavour than the abv - I happily drink 3% Ales over 5% light American beer. I haven't enough experience with scotch to know if it's the same here for sure yet.

I like beer in all strengths from 3 up to 6, but if I'm just having one bottle of it, the weaker ones leaving me feeling like I've just started. Wasn't expecting that feeling from a bottle of Porter, was thinking it would give me something to chew on. Was probably just because I'd had some hot spicy food and was thirsty. Dunno.

People who knew me more than a handful of years ago find my having Just One Bottle hilarious, as I used to be a terrible pisshead. I had one friend who was equally wine-enthusiastic as me, and we led each other thoroughly astray. One Saturday we managed six bottles of red between us. I had a late afternoon kip between bottles three and four; he watched telly and had some more wine

Why is "light-beer" light? Is it low on alcohol or do they use alternative sweeteners? In my country there is no such thing as "light-beer", we only have beer

It just signifies it's lower in alcohol and/or calories than 'normal' beer.
