    I can't afford a bmw. Well maybe the 1 series but I may as well stock with vw. I can lease a polo gti for less than I currently pay. Might have to do that.

    IMHO, VW's are better cars than BMW's anyway.
    I have a choice of Ford, Audi, BMW, Mercedes Benz and VW for my company car and I will go for VW every time.

    Yeah but I want a fast drop top. Which vw don't do. Well, the eos but that's a bit ugly imo.

    I agree that the EOS was a waste of time but is a Golf GTI Cabriolet not good enough for you?

    I have had too much experience working on VWs from late 90s- early '00s (a couple Jettas, a GTi and a New Beetle) to ever want a modern VW.

    Constantly needing special tools, chasing electrical problems, basically having to pull apart the whole front end of the Beetle to change the radiator... Makes a modern MINI looks like the easiest thing in the world to work on.
