    Skip the pastry then - that would make it a lot easier anyway! Salmon and asparagus just go really well together, and it makes a colorful presentation.

    Here's a picture of lunch today from a hole-in-the-wall Hawaiian place. Teriyaki chicken, kalua pork, hamburger steak and spam. I was feeling a bit indecisive.



    Last night's dinner was a bit more impressive, but it was a no picture kind of place. Homemade pappardelle with a crispy poached egg, pesto, pecorino and shimeji mushrooms. The poached egg was herb crusted and dipped quickly Ina deep fryer to make it crispy.

    Oh its my kind of meal too. Okra and tomatoe pork slow cooked with creamy grits and cornbread.

    I've gone for moules marinaires to start and sticky Chinese ribs for main, a bit of rice on the side. Pics later.
