The do rather. I don't get it when kids claim to dislike them.
I liked peas as a kid, hate them now. They're a logistical nightmare to eat. As an adult, you can't eat solid food with a spoon, and they're a ridiculous form of food to eat with a fork.

I use whatever utensil as necessary.
So, I will use a spoon for peas if no there is mashed potatoes nearby.
Sometimes, I choose to "err," and side with logic over rules, to override silliness and inconvenience.
