Ah, dining al fresco. How I miss that.

Around here, people think al fresco is that guy from New York that stopped at the service station to ask directions, a couple of years ago.

Oh. Good to see you paid bail and got your lovely wife out.

Well I've just got back from a barbecue where I ate the best food I've ever eaten at a barbecue. Over here barbecue often means either horrifically overcooked or burnt on the outside and raw in the middle or cooked in an oven and then scorched on the barbecue. This food was all cooked from raw on the barbie and it was perfect. The guy cooking was an ex-army chef and it showed. Absolute perfection.

I just had a sensational meal in Bournemouth. We shared (we always share) scallops, black pudding and cauliflower, and truffle and pea gnocchi to start, then steak and pork for main, and chocolate fondant, salted caramel ice cream and cheese and biscuits for desert. Was utterly sublime. Just a pic of the main Name: uploadfromtaptalk1436562797226.jpg

Such a shame they'd run out of plates, but otherwise sounds like a lovely meal

I actually snuck the pic and she got the plates. It's a smart joint and I didn't want to appear gauche, hence the discretion, and lack of other pics.

Bournemouth is definitely on list of places to visit!

Dinner served with no forks, no plates, no napkins, and giant mugs with spouts to quaff your favorite beverage.
    Old Frothingshloff, no doubt.

Ah, but they do give you a butter knife for your peas!

I'll eat it but I'm not a major fan. This, however, was delicious - it wasn't formed as a sausage, more a loose pile of fluffy, salty, pigs-bloody deliciousness.

Yes, it's great like that. Too often it's overcooked and tough
