Thread: Food

A pint of home brewed ale. This counts as food because it's chocolate ale, and it's being guarded by my overwintered chillies........

I know of a few places that cold smoke bacon, but the stuff you get at the grocer is hot smoked, and should be cooked. Regardless, why would you eat chewy cold bacon when you could have it hot and crisp?

The ranger in me gets prickly when it comes to food handling.
It is now my duty to completely drain you.

Not in any military sense. Perhaps that was too open-ended a term. I don't like the term 'guide' because I've turned down professional guiding work several times. Ranging is probably more appropriate, but I forget it has military meanings as well.

I'm watching Diners, Drive-ins and Dives (anyone else watch it?), and it's inspiring me to try new things. Homemade Pestrami, sticky sesame ribs, fried chicken... I just bought an oil thermometer which should help. Not my waistline though.

So, I guess the short answer is...No.

If you run into trouble with your pastrami, or corned beef, I may be able to give you some advice. I make that kind of thing regularly.

I wasn't thinking military tbh, just Park ranger. Cool though. I need to get to the great outdoors more.

Thank you - you appear to be an adept cook so I shan't hesitate to ask!
